It’s officially time to look ahead to Championship Sunday. We’ve got the Broncos, we’ve got the Patriots, and we’ve got a couple of Hard Rock Best Bets for the game. Let’s get into it.

Chris Welsh’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Patriots 1H -2.5 (-120)

Out of the five bets that I laid out for you guys on the show, I absolutely love the New England Patriots to cover the spread in the first half against Denver. This line is currently set at -2.5 (-120) at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook.

As I said before, they have been monsters at covering first half spreads. They’ve been the best in the NFL at it, and they’re going to do it again in this one. No further explanation needed.

Patriots 1H -2.5. That is my Hard Rock Best Bet for the AFC Championship Game.

Andrew Erickson’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Broncos +5 (-109)

I’m taking the Broncos +5 in this one, even as a Patriots fan. Matt Perrault mentioned this stat nugget earlier this week: home underdogs of 4+ points are 10-0 against the spread in the NFL playoffs.

When you look at Drake Maye when he’s faced Top 10 defenses this year, he’s been sacked at least five times in every single matchup – and he’s thrown at least one interception. I think that’s enough evidence to believe the Pats will stall out on most of their drives. All we need is a potential turnover here or there and I think that’s enough to keep this game within a field goal.

Give me the Broncos +5, even though I still think the Patriots end up winning it in the fourth quarter.

Championship Sunday is almost here and we’ve got a good contest brewing between NFC West rivals meeting up for a third time in the Rams and Seahawks.

Chris Welsh’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Darnold o29.5 Pass Attempts

I gotta tell you, I’m locked into these Rams/Seahawks props a little bit more than I am on the AFC side. I definitely had a really strong favorite that I think is maybe my singular favorite bet of the entire weekend. There’s three of them in total – and the Puka rushing yards prop we discussed earlier is really really close – but at the end of the day, I’m going to lock in on Sam Darnold Over 29.5 Pass Attempts at -101.

Seattle is definitely going to lose a little bit in the run game following Zach Charbonnet’s ACL imjury. They are going to be forced to throw as much as possible and I think the 30+ pass attempts for Sam Darnold will be a necessity. That is going to be my Hard Rock Best Bet for the NFC Championship Game.

Andrew Erickson’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Kupp o2.5 Receptions

My Hard Rock Best Bet for the NFC Championship Game is none other than Cooper Kupp Over 2.5 receptions against his former team. This one is a bit on the chalky side at -143, but hear me out.

Kupp has gone over this number in both of his games against the Rams this season. Going back to last week, he’s coming off one of his better games of the year. Five catches for 60 yards on just five targets.

He’s also gone over this number in four straight home games, and three of his last five games overall. In my opinion, this is a five-star bet on the prop bet cheat sheet this weekend. Don’t let me down.

With just two NFL games on the board this weekend, it didn’t take long for us to narrow things down. When it came time to lock in our Hard Rock Best Bets, both of us landed on Sunday’s Patriots vs. Broncos matchup.

Andrew Erickson’s Hard Rock Best Bet

I’m betting against my own team here and taking the Denver Broncos +4.5 at home. This does not mean I think Denver wins the game outright. I still expect the Patriots to win, but I think it’s more likely they win by a field goal than by 5+ points.

This number moved too far following the Bo Nix injury, and I don’t think the updated spread properly reflects how this game is likely to play out. Denver’s defense is good enough to keep this close, especially at home, and I don’t think New England separates the way the line suggests.

If this is a one-score game late, which I think it will be, Denver covers the 4.5.

Ryan Wormeli’s Hard Rock Best Bet

My Hard Rock Best Bet is on the total in Patriots vs. Broncos. Under 42.5.

This was one of my two favorite bets of the entire show, and I had it written down before hearing Andrew’s pick. I like this number better than the spread, and it ties directly into everything we discussed earlier.

Even if Bo Nix were playing, I would still lean under. With a backup quarterback on one side, strong defenses on both sides, and both teams built to slow games down, I think this total is simply too high. I don’t expect offensive efficiency, and I think field goals will matter more than touchdowns in this matchup.

Wild Card Weekend brings a full slate of playoff games, tight spreads, and no shortage of betting angles. After breaking down every matchup on the board, analyzing injuries, trends, matchups, and market movement, two plays ultimately stood out above the rest.

Andrew Erickson’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Eagles -4.5 vs. 49ers

The Eagles laying 4.5 points against the 49ers stands out as my most confident play of the weekend. This pick is rooted in health and playoff experience, both of which favor Philadelphia in a significant way.

Philadelphia enters this postseason far healthier than San Francisco, particularly in the trenches. Lane Johnson is expected to return, a massive upgrade for an offensive line that looks dramatically different when he is in the lineup. The Eagles’ offense has historically been more efficient with Johnson on the field, requiring fewer dropbacks and sustaining drives more consistently.

On the other side, the 49ers are dealing with significant injury concerns. Trent Williams’ status is far less certain, and even if he plays, he is unlikely to be close to full strength while dealing with a hamstring injury. San Francisco’s offense has shown clear regression when Williams is absent or limited, scoring nearly six fewer points per game without him. That drop-off was evident late in the season and is difficult to ignore heading into a road playoff game.

The defensive matchup also tilts toward Philadelphia. The Eagles are getting key contributors back on defense, including reinforcements along the defensive line and at linebacker. Meanwhile, the 49ers are thin at linebacker, recently signing additional depth simply to field enough bodies.

There is also a situational element working against San Francisco. The 49ers failed to secure a bye week and now have to travel to Philadelphia, play outdoors, and face a rested and healthier team. Their ideal postseason path required staying home and regaining health. Instead, they are walking into one of the toughest environments in the league.

Experience further separates these teams. Philadelphia is the defending Super Bowl champion, led by a quarterback and coaching staff that have navigated multiple deep playoff runs. The Eagles know how to manage playoff intensity, adversity, and expectations. San Francisco, under Kyle Shanahan, has consistently struggled in high-leverage road playoff situations, often leaving points on the field.

All of this points toward Philadelphia being in position to not only win, but win decisively. Laying 4.5 points does not reflect the health gap, the defensive matchup, or the experience edge. This game profiles as one where the Eagles take control and put the 49ers’ injury-depleted roster under constant pressure.

Ryan Wormeli’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Texans -3 at Steelers

The Texans -3 on the road against the Steelers is another spot where matchup clarity outweighs surface-level trends. While Pittsburgh’s home record on Monday Night Football and Mike Tomlin’s reputation loom large, the underlying football points strongly toward Houston.

The Texans defense is the best unit on the field in this game. It is elite across the board and particularly dangerous against an aging Steelers offense that has struggled to move the ball against strong defenses all season. Pittsburgh’s offensive production has repeatedly stalled when facing pressure, athleticism, and disciplined coverage, all strengths of the Texans defense.

Houston’s pass rush creates consistent disruption, and that is a major issue for a Steelers offense led by an older quarterback coming off a long, physically taxing season. Against comparable defensive units, Pittsburgh has failed to sustain drives or generate explosive plays. Even with DK Metcalf back in the lineup, the offense still faces structural issues that one receiver cannot fix.

Houston’s offense also deserves more credit than it is receiving. C.J. Stroud has already shown he can perform in the postseason. The Texans offense is capable of scoring efficiently, especially against a Steelers defense that has been inconsistent and vulnerable at times.

The market price reflects historical trends more than present reality. Pittsburgh’s undefeated record at home on Monday Night Football and Tomlin’s long-standing success in underdog roles are baked into the number. However, trends do not block pass rushers or cover receivers. Houston’s roster, particularly on defense, is simply superior.

Another key factor is momentum. The Texans enter the playoffs playing their best football, while Pittsburgh backed into the postseason after benefiting from a weak division. Against top-tier competition, the Steelers have consistently come up short.

Laying only 3 points with the Texans creates an opportunity to back the better team without paying a premium. Even on the road, Houston’s defensive dominance gives them a high floor and a clear path to covering the spread.

NFL Wild Card Weekend offers plenty of volatility, but these two plays stand out. Philadelphia -4.5 capitalizes on a massive health and matchup advantage against an injury-riddled 49ers team that now has to travel. The Saints’ backfield has become a revolving door. Alvin Kamara continues to deal with an MCL issue, and based on where New Orleans sits competitively, there’s little incentive to rush him back. Devin Neal re-aggravated a hamstring injury last week and never returned to the field. That leaves two backs standing: Audric Estime and Evan Hull.

Once Neal exited, the workload split was essentially 50/50 – but Estime held the edge in touches and snap rate. More importantly, when the Saints needed reliable plays during the final drive, Estime was the one getting the passing-game work. That kind of trust goes a long way.

A Matchup Too Good to Ignore

Let’s not overthink this: the Jets have become a funnel matchup for running backs. Their last five outings have turned opposing RBs into league winners.

The pattern is loud, consistent, and profitable – start the RB against the Jets. Even a defensive coordinator change isn’t likely to reverse that trajectory.

With the Saints entering as home favorites and likely leaning on the ground game, the volume could easily stretch into the 20+ carry range if Estime gets rolling.

Talent + Opportunity = Flex Appeal

Estime’s profile remains intriguing: 5’11”, 227 pounds, a physical runner with underrated space skills. His 40 time tanked his draft stock, but the tape out of Notre Dame told a different story. He’s bounced around the league – Denver, Philly’s practice squad – but now finds himself in a backfield where opportunity is finally meeting ability.

If you’re in the semifinals and need upside, Estime is firmly in the flex conversation.

Worm’s Hard Rock Best Bet: Fade the Raiders

If optimism defines Erickson’s pick, mine is the opposite.

The Raiders will improve from their historically awful offensive performance last week – but still produce zero legitimate fantasy starters against Houston.

Why the Raiders Remain a Pass

Houston’s defense has tightened significantly, and Las Vegas’ implied team total is one of the lowest of the week. Even with some positive regression expected after their 31-0 disaster, the offensive ecosystem remains broken.

My angle: take the under on any Brock Bowers prop. Any line, any category.

It’s not just Bowers. The Raiders simply don’t have many fantasy-relevant options right now beyond Bowers and Ashton Jeanty – and both face a brutally difficult matchup.

Context Only Makes It Worse

The Raiders are on the road. Pete Carroll is reportedly coaching without job concerns. All signs point toward the Raiders playing from behind against a defense that has consistently shut down middle-of-the-pack offenses.

Even if Las Vegas moves the ball better than last week (they practically have to), the fantasy ceiling is still scraping the floor.

Final Thoughts

Week 16 offers two very different fantasy/betting opportunities:

• Audric Estime represents everything we chase in the fantasy playoffs: talent, volume and matchup. If Neal and Kamara remain out, he’s a flex play with real RB1 upside.

Hard Rock Best Bet of the Week: Ravens-Bengals Over 51.5

I said it last week and I’ll say it again: stop worrying about totals coming down. Keep taking the overs when the matchup begs for fireworks, and this one absolutely does.

Neither the Bengals nor the Ravens are bringing a functioning defense to this meeting. Baltimore’s secondary is leaking chunk plays, Cincinnati’s front can’t stop anyone, and mistakes on both sides should turn into points – fast.

Burrow’s turnovers last week masked how well he actually moved the ball, and these divisional games between Cincinnati and Baltimore always tilt toward chaos. Whether the Bengals steal another win over the Ravens or not, the script screams scoring, not stops.

I’m rolling with the over. Again.

Green Bay Packers -1.5

A lot of people are going to gravitate toward Denver at home, but I’m heading the other way. The Packers have something brewing, and Jordan Love is quietly playing his best football of the year.

This line dropped from -2.5 to -1.5, and I love it even more now. The Packers have found a rhythm: big NFC North wins over Detroit on Thanksgiving and the Bears last week. Their run game travels, their quarterback is limiting mistakes, and this is exactly the kind of out-of-conference matchup where momentum stays hot.

Denver’s defense is legit. Their offense? Still wildly inconsistent. At some point the close-game magic wears off, and Green Bay is built to take advantage.

I’m backing the Pack with confidence.

Texans-Cardinals Under 42.5

Andrew and I linked arms on this one, and for good reason.

Houston at home as a favorite has been an under machine: 18-1 to the under dating back to last year. This defense suffocates non-division opponents, and Arizona’s offense is facing injuries at tackle and a brutal trench matchup.

Could Jacoby Brissett sling it 55 times in garbage time? Sure. But unders hit when one team gets dragged into a slow, ugly fight… and that’s exactly the environment Houston creates in their own building.

Even with some respect for Arizona’s resilience, the most reliable path is the under. I’m on it.

Jets-Jaguars Under 42

The Jets are on their third quarterback. Their offense was lifeless weeks ago, and things have only worsened. Jacksonville, meanwhile, is doing exactly what I told you to expect: they’ve tightened up the division race and handled business.

The Jets putting up 10 points in this game feels like an optimistic projection. Jacksonville should move the ball enough to win comfortably, somewhere around the high 20s, but that’s nowhere near enough for this total to get threatened.

One-sided games lean under. This one fits the profile perfectly.

Upset Special: Patriots ML (+107)

I have hit my Upset Special three weeks in a row, and I’m keeping the streak alive.

The Patriots are rested, physical, and improving every single week. Drake Maye is playing his best football of the season, and this is exactly the type of December home game where New England leans into its identity: grinding, punishing, old-school football that wears teams down.

Buffalo has talent, but they’ve also shown cracks everywhere: inconsistent defense, shaky support for Josh Allen, and a tendency to wilt when punched in the mouth. New England can’t win shootouts, but they can win battles of attrition.

The Patriots take this one, and the home crowd is going to sound like the old days again.

Travis Etienne: Set to Smash

We start with Travis Etienne Jr., who draws a dream matchup against a New York Jets defense that has completely fallen apart against opposing running backs since moving on from Quinnen Williams. The Jets have allowed RB finishes of RB8, RB1, RB4, and RB3 in their last four games, and nine different running backs have hit 62+ rushing yards against them in their last seven contests. Seven backs have topped 65 yards, which aligns perfectly with Etienne’s rushing prop of over 64.5 yards — a number we both love this week.

• The Bet: Travis Etienne over 64.5 rushing yards

Etienne himself has been on a tear, finishing inside the top 10 running backs in six of his last seven games, including top-seven finishes in three of his last four. And while the Jaguars teased using Tank Bigsby at the goal line, two costly fumbles last week make it unlikely they go away from the red-hot Etienne — especially after he handled 20 carries, scored twice, and played nearly 72% of the snaps. It’s wheels-up for Etienne against the Jets.

TreVeyon Henderson: The “Prince Who Was Promised” Week

Our next Hard Rock Best Bet focuses on TreVeyon Henderson, who finally gets a matchup where everything lines up for a true RB1 performance. Despite the perception that Henderson has recently “broken out,” he has only finished inside the top 12 running backs twice this season — RB4 in Week 10 and RB3 in Week 11. Even in this encouraging recent stretch, he has not otherwise finished higher than RB20.

Still, with the Patriots coming off a bye and entering what is essentially the biggest game left on their schedule, Henderson is set up to be featured. The Bills’ run defense has struggled, and New England will need its best playmakers on the field. This feels like a spot where the Patriots lean on him heavily.

I’m predicting 100+ scrimmage yards and a touchdown, with an explosive play mixed in. In our rankings, Henderson sits at RB13, but we both believe he performs more like a top-12 back this week — right in the same tier of excitement as Etienne.

Bengals-Bills Over 52.5

For our top play of Week 14, we’re taking the over in the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills matchup. The total has shifted upward from 51.5 but we still like it.

Why the over? Simple: Two aggressive quarterbacks, two defenses prone to breakdowns, and a game script that screams fireworks. Both teams play “fast and loose,” and we expect one of the most entertaining shootouts of the weekend.

Cleveland Browns -3.5

Cowboys Moneyline (+145) — The Upset Special

Now for the Upset Special of the Week — the Dallas Cowboys (+145 moneyline) to knock off the Philadelphia Eagles.

Look, the Eagles just feel a little… off. After a couple of sluggish showings — including losses to the Broncos and Giants, and a sloppy 10-point outing against the Packers — this doesn’t look like the same well-oiled machine we saw early in the season.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have been dominant at home, averaging over 30 points per game in front of their fans. If they’re going to make a real run, it starts with this divisional statement win. We like the underdog here.

Dallas is coming off a strong performance, and this isn’t the same Eagles defense we saw in Week 1.

Baker’s already stirring the pot in the pressers – talking cold weather, hand size, and having fun with it. You love to see it. The Bucs don’t need style points, just some grit and a cover. Lock in the +5.5 (or better if you caught it early). Live dog alert in Buffalo.

Falcons -3.5 vs Panthers

Atlanta’s season is hanging by a thread, and this is the week to buy in. The Falcons got embarrassed by Carolina earlier this year, but revenge spots like this tend to cash. At home, fighting for your playoff life, and with a desperate head coach who knows this is a must-win – the setup screams bounce-back.

Carolina’s offense is still broken. The passing game has no rhythm, the red-zone work is nonexistent, and they’ve scored more than 20 points just once over their last four games. Bijan Robinson should be fed early and often, and as long as Raheem Morris keeps it simple, the Falcons should grind out a convincing win.

Dolphins -2.5 vs Commanders (Madrid Game)

The Commanders are toast: overcooked, under-seasoned, and falling apart. Their defense is a skeleton crew, their secondary’s a mash unit, and even their best linemen are suspended or hurt. Miami should absolutely roll in this neutral-site matchup in Madrid.

Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins feast on bad teams. Always have – they’re 14-9 ATS as favorites since 2023. Expect a fast start, a fireworks show from Tua and Waddle, and a comfortable Miami cover. Start your Sunday with an easy one.

Giants +7.5 vs Packers (a.k.a. The Dead Coach Bounce Special)

The post-firing surge is real – and the Giants are next in line. With Jameis Winston stepping in and offensive guru Mike Kafka calling plays, this group suddenly has life. Winston will make you laugh, cry, and cash, sometimes all in the same quarter.

Green Bay’s offense, on the other hand, is flatlining. Jordan Love’s looked lost without Tucker Kraft, and Matt LaFleur’s play-calling has been as uninspiring as it gets. Even if the Packers jump ahead, Winston should be able to keep the backdoor open. Giants cover +7.5, and don’t be shocked if they flirt with an outright upset.

Chiefs at Broncos: Under 44.5

This AFC West matchup never ends up in a shootout. The last four totals between these two have all gone under, and both teams are among the league’s best under bets in 2025.

Andy Reid off a bye is money straight-up, but just average against the spread. The real value lies in the total: his post-bye games have hit the under three straight years. Expect a chess match more than a track meet. Both defenses are playing sharp, both QBs face tough secondaries, and red-zone stalls will define the night. Chiefs win ugly, 23-17.
